Homeowner Shoots Alleged Trespasser In Houston

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on May 13, 2026, officers responded to reports of a suspicious person near Tidwell Road in Houston and discovered a man deceased in a nearby ditch.

Investigators say the deceased man had allegedly been repeatedly trespassing through a housing development under construction and entering backyards and unfinished homes in the area.

According to authorities, a homeowner confronted the man after reportedly finding him in the neighborhood again. Police say the confrontation later turned physical near a wooded area adjacent to the development.

The homeowner told investigators he was attacked and then fired a handgun during the altercation.

The injured man reportedly fled the area before later being found deceased by responding officers.

Authorities say the homeowner remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.

The investigation remains ongoing.
