Homeless Man Caught in the Act of Arson in National City

 

11.21.20 | 5:54 AM | NATIONAL CITY – A homeless man was seen on camera feeding a growing fire in a brushy area Saturday morning.

Authorities from National City FD along with police received 911 calls shortly before 6 AM regarding a blaze that erupted along the bike path along the Sweetwater River just east of N. 2nd Avenue, below HWY 54.

Upon the arrival of our photographer, a homeless male could be seen still adding more fuel to the fire.

Firefighters arrived and when asked about the fire, he told them that he was attempting to put the fire out.

The Police were called, but it’s unclear at this time if they will react.

The man nonchalantly fled the scene with his bleongings.
