Hollywood: SWAT Team Uses Tear Gas To End Standoff
04.13.2020 | 5:30 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man armed with a knife was taken into custody by a SWAT team that deployed tear gas, Monday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a man armed with a knife inside a home in the 5600 block of Lexington Avenue near Western Avenue in the Hollywood area around 5:30 PM.
Units arriving on scene learned that a 40-year-old male suspect had threatened a person with a knife and was barricaded inside the home.
A SWAt team along with crisis negotiators responded to the scene but the man refused to exit peacefully.
At around 10:00 PM SWAT officers deployed tear gas into the home and took the male suspect into custody without further incident.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
