Hollywood: Man Running From Police Killed After Jumping From Overpass

08.27.2019 | 9:30 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man who ran from police was dead after jumping from a freeway overpass and being struck by at least two vehicles, Tuesday night.

Officers on routine patrol spotted a possibly intoxicated person in the street on Santa Monica Boulevard near the I-101 Freeway in the Hollywood around 9:30 PM.

When officers attempted to stop the man, he fled before jumping off the nearby bridge and landing in southbound lanes on the I-101.

According to witnesses, the man was then struck by at least two vehicles.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene but discovered the man had succumbed to his injuries prior to their arrival.

All lanes of the southbound I-101 Freeway along with lanes on Santa Monica Boulevard were closed until further notice while police investigated.
