Hollywood Home Destroyed By Massive Fire
Firefighters battled a massive blaze after a vacant two-story home became fully engulfed in flames late Tuesday night in Hollywood.
Between approximately 11:45 p.m. on July 15 and 12:15 a.m. on July 16, Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire behind the Hollywood Guest Inn near 6720 Sunset Boulevard.
When firefighters arrived, they found the vacant home fully engulfed, with heavy fire showing from every window and through the roof.
The intense blaze also ignited a nearby utility pole and even set the empty swimming pool area on fire.
Due to the volume of fire, crews transitioned into a defensive strategy, surrounding the structure and working to keep the flames from spreading to nearby apartment buildings and parked vehicles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers assisted with traffic control and scene security while firefighters extinguished the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
