Authorities responded to reports of a gunshot victim outside a home in the 8000 block of Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills area around 11:45 PM.
Units arriving on scene found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand inside a vehicle.
Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.
Initial reports indicate the man was talking on his phone in a vehicle outside his home when an armed suspect approached him.
A short struggle ensued during which the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his hand.
The suspect, described as an African American male wearing a black skull mask, remained at large.
