Hit & Run Suspect Leaves Trail of Destruction | Spring Valley

11.21.2021 | 6:24 PM | SPRING VALLEY – The California Highway Patrol received a call of a white box that had struck 3 vehicles along Elkelton Blvd and sheared off a fire hydrant in Spring Valley.

The Box truck took off East towards Sweetwater Road.

California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Sheriff searched the area and found the box truck abandoned near Sweetwater Road and Tyler St.

Witnesses saw the suspect head down Bancroft St. towards Lamar County Park.

Officers and Deputies set up a perimeter around a drainage ditch near the park.

With the help of the San Diego County Sheriff’s helicopter ASTREA, they were able to locate the suspect hiding in some brush and take him into custody.

He was transported to a local hospital for his injuries from the crash.

The California Highway Patrol will be handling the incident.
