Hit & Run Suspect Arrested After Fiery Crash | San Diego

08.15.2021 | 2:27 AM | SAN DIEGO – A male traveling Southbound on the 1700 block of Pacific Highway in a white older model Chrysler van struck 3 parked vehicles along the street.

The force of the crash caused the van to catch fire.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and fled Southbound towards the San Diego County Administration building.

Police arrived on the scene and were directed by witnesses to where the suspect fled to and also giving them a description of the suspect.

Firefighters from Station 2, just a block away were able to knock down the flames within minutes of arrival.

San Diego Police along with the help of San Diego Harbor Police searched the area and found the suspect near the InterContinental Hotel located near Bayfront Court and Pacific Highway.

The male was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was transported to Mercy hospital after suffering a laceration to his hand from the crash.
