Highland Park: Crash Into Pole Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

07.25.2019 | 2:06 AM | HIGHLAND PARK – One person was dead and two others were injured after a car crashed into a light pole, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with patients possibly trapped near the intersection of Marmion Way and Figueroa Street around 2:06 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a white hatchback with two patients trapped and one outside the vehicle suffering from major injuries.

Firefighters transported one male victim found outside the vehicle with major injuries while other crews used the jaws of life to free the trapped patients.

Crews were able to free one female victim that was trapped inside the vehicle but pronounced the other individual inside the vehicle deceased on scene.

Both remaining victims were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
