High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Dramatic Arrest on SB 215 in San Bernardino

DETAILS:
- A high pursuit that started Somewhere in Fontana ended in San Bernardino after the pursuit suspect entered Highway 215 going northbound on the southbound side.
- At around 6:45 CHP received multiple reports of a driver driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 215 at high speeds.
- The vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic before riding the should of the southbound side and exiting on Baseline Rd where one of two suspects exited the vehicle and took a football.
- The vehicle then re-entered the northbound 215 on the southbound off-ramp and continued nb.
- It was reported that the Suspect attempted to hit two patrol vehicles while driving the wrong way.
- Shortly after the vehicle crashed off the side of the freeway just south of Highland Avenue off the southbound shoulder.
- The Suspect then took a football just as CHP officers arrived at the crash site.
- CHP and Fontana PD chased the suspect over the railroad tracks and took the suspect into custody at gunpoint.
- It was quickly reported the suspect had ditched a gun while on foot bail.
- Fontana PD and CHP had been searching for the gun when it was just reported that a citizen watched an unknown vehicle drive up, grab the gun, and flee the scene.
- Both suspects have been taken into custody, and it was reported that no law enforcement vehicles or civilian vehicles were damaged or hurt.
- The incident is still under investigation
