High-Speed Chase Ends in Foot Pursuit and Arrest

LOCATION: 4300 blk of Wynolna to Fuel Farm off of Murphy Canyon

DETAILS:
- SDPD officers found a stolen BMW using the License Plate Reader camera on their Patrol Vehicle.
- The officers attempted to stop the driver, but he fled at a high speed on the city streets.
- He made his way onto the northbound I-15, but at some point, he hit something causing his right front tire to flatten.
- He hit speeds of over 90 mph while on the freeway.
- As he neared Aero Dr, the flat tire caused the driver to lose control, and he crashed into the center divider.
- The suspect then foot bailed and ran across the southbound lanes of the I-15.
- He jumped off a 12-foot wall and entered the Fuel Farm along Murphy Canyon Rd.
- At some point, he high-jacked a golf cart from an employee.
- The suspect then drove to the west side of the Fuel Farm and ran to the brush on the hillside.
- A large manhunt was conducted by the officers, and a K-9 was deployed when the suspect refused to surrender.
- The suspect was bit several times and then was arrested.
- The suspect was transported to a local hospital for the dog bites.
- Both northbound and southbound traffic lanes were stopped for the Police activity.
