High-Speed Chase Ends in Foot Pursuit and Arrest

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-9-24 6:42 am approx
LOCATION: 4300 blk of Wynolna to Fuel Farm off of Murphy Canyon
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:

  1. SDPD officers found a stolen BMW using the License Plate Reader camera on their Patrol Vehicle.
  2. The officers attempted to stop the driver, but he fled at a high speed on the city streets.
  3. He made his way onto the northbound I-15, but at some point, he hit something causing his right front tire to flatten.
  4. He hit speeds of over 90 mph while on the freeway.
  5. As he neared Aero Dr, the flat tire caused the driver to lose control, and he crashed into the center divider.
  6. The suspect then foot bailed and ran across the southbound lanes of the I-15.
  7. He jumped off a 12-foot wall and entered the Fuel Farm along Murphy Canyon Rd.
  8. At some point, he high-jacked a golf cart from an employee.
  9. The suspect then drove to the west side of the Fuel Farm and ran to the brush on the hillside.
  10. A large manhunt was conducted by the officers, and a K-9 was deployed when the suspect refused to surrender.
  11. The suspect was bit several times and then was arrested.
  12. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for the dog bites.
  13. Both northbound and southbound traffic lanes were stopped for the Police activity.
