High Speed BMW Crashes During Pursuit

According to the AZ DPS Sergeant on scene:
- An AZ DPS Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a black 2 door BMW travelling at a high rate of speed on westbound I-10 near 35th Avenue.
- The suspect refused to yield and a pursuit was initiated.
- The suspect fled west on I-10 at speeds over 100 mph.
- Pursuing Troopers struggled to catch up to the suspect due to his excessive speeds.
- Troopers spotted the vehicle from a distance as the suspect exited the I-10 at 91st Avenue.
- Troopers observed the suspect crash into a Toyota hatchback at the intersection of 91st Avenue and I-10.
- The suspect exited his vehicle on foot as troopers converged on the scene.
- Troopers chased the suspect on foot as he ran northbound on 91st Avenue.
- He was taken into custody near McDowell Road after a trooper deployed a taser.
- Tolleson Fire crews responded to evaluate 2 occupants from the vehicle that was struck by the suspect.
- The suspect refused medical attention but was evaluated on scene as a precaution.
- None of the involved parties required hospitalization.
- The suspect is an adult male and will be booked on several charges including unlawful flight and fleeing the scene of an accident.
- Impairment is suspected but will not be confirmed until all tests have been completed.
- Narcotic paraphernalia and a firearm were located inside the suspects vehicle.
