Hesperia: Patient Steals Ambulance, Leads Officers On Pursuit

12.16.2018 | 4:00 PM | HESPERIA – A patient who escaped his restraints took control of an ambulance and led officers on a pursuit, Sunday evening.

The man who was being transported by a EMT crew around 4:00 PM somehow managed to escape his restraints and take over the ambulance he was being transported in.

Officers responded to attempt to stop the man but he fled, leading officers on a pursuit along the I-15 freeway before exiting at Main Street.

The individual was taken into custody shortly after exiting the freeway and detained pending a mental health evaluation.

Additional information regarding the circumstances of the ambulance takeover wast not released.
