Heavy Snow Blanks High Elevation Towns & Highways

- Heavy snow is now falling at all levels above 6500 ft. including the mountain town of green valley lake.
- After 24 hours of brutal heavy rain that still continues to slam the san bernardino mountains, the misery of the torrential rain fall, flooding and mud slides is over for anyone above 6500 ft
- At around 7pm last night, after the main storm from past through, the temperatures began to noticeably drop very quickly.
- after a day of rain and 50 degree weather way up in the mountains, temperatures plummeted into the 30s and with it came some fierce cold winter like winds that immediately stung the nose and cheeks, and made your fingers feel like ice.
- at around 1030 pm, at about 7k feet elevation, the town of green valley lake turned white within minutes.
- 5 minutes down the road it was raining heavily, but here it was snowing.
- A small bar in green valley lake was open with about 10 people standing on the outside patio appearing to be thrilled and excited to see the white snow fall after a long hot summer.
- Further up the mountain, passed snow valley on highway 18, in the the stretch known as “arctic circle” and / or glory ridge, snow also covered the highway in minutes.
- Motorists appeared to be shocked as this snow was never in the forecast for tonight.
- Snow plows have been out all day mitigating mudslides and rock slides, but now they are plowing snow.
- More brutal weather is in store this storm continues to blast southern california with heavy rain, with at least 2 more storms in the forecast this week.
