Hawthorne: Motorcyclist Dead After Crash

12.26.2018 | 1:18 AM | HAWTHORNE – A motorcyclist was dead after crashing, early Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a motorcyclist down at the intersection of Prairie and Jack Northrop avenues around 1:18 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a male motorcyclist down in northbound lanes of the roadway.

Firefighter paramedics responding to the scene treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Initial reports indicate the motorcyclist lost control before striking a fixed object and crashing.

Officers closed off the intersection while they continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
