Harris County Sheriff Deputy Killed After Being Ambushed

DETAILS:
- HCSO deputies and investigators responded to an aggravated assault in progress at a Little Caesars at 16500 Wallis ville rd.
- Arriving units learned that the clerk at Little Caesars had been assaulted.
- The suspect came into location to pick up a pizza. He was upset because the order was incorrect.
- He then verbally assaulted the employee, then produced a firearm and pistol whipped the employee before fleeing the location.
- The employee was able to provide a description of the suspect and vehicle.
- They do have video surveillance of the incident.
- Other undercover units searched an area that the vehicle has showed up on the Flock system.
- The undercover deputy located the vehicle.
- He may have had radio issues but was on the phone with another deputy.
- He was then ambushed by the suspect.
- Units went to his location and found his vehicle with multiple bullet holes.
- They also found the deputy with multiple gun shot wounds.
- They transported the deputy by patrol car to LBJ Hospital.
- The 28 year old deputy, 5 year veteran of the HCSO, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
- He was part of the Violent Person’s Task Force.
- Suspect is described as a black male, wearing a hat with a black jersey with unknown writing on it.
- SWAT teams are set up on two locations. They do believe they know who the suspect is.
