Harbor City: Pack-Rat Conditions Complicate Fire
11.15.2018 | 11:37 PM | HARBOR CITY – A fire ripped through a home with pack-rat conditions, late Thursday night.
Firefighters responded to a reported residential fire in the 1700 block of West 251st Street shortly before midnight.
Crews arrived on scene to a single story residence with heavy smoke fire showing and initiated efforts to attack the blaze.
The fight was complicated by what authorities described as pack-rat, or dense storage, conditions within the residence.
Nearly 40 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire within 40 minutes.
Two residents were evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation but refused treatment.
Authorities were on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
