Man Shot During Altercation At San Bernardino 7-Eleven

A shooting initially believed by witnesses to involve police was later determined to have stemmed from an altercation between individuals in a San Bernardino 7-Eleven parking lot early Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. on September 13, 2026, at the convenience store near 5th and G streets.

According to San Bernardino Police Capt. Carrington, officers reviewed surveillance video and determined an altercation occurred before one person pulled out a gun and shot another person.

Both the suspected shooter and the person who was shot fled the scene before officers arrived. Several people were initially detained during the investigation but were later released, according to police.

The shooting victim was subsequently located. Their condition was not immediately available.

The suspected shooter had not been identified and remained outstanding as of the latest update.

Initial witness accounts from the scene indicated officers may have been involved in the gunfire. Police later confirmed that no officers were involved in the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
