Gunfire Erupts During Altercation on Eastbound 60 Freeway

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-25-25, 3:15 p.m.
LOCATION: Pyrite and the Eastbound 60 Freeway
AREA/CITY: Jurupa Valley

NOTE: SOT IS SOUND ONLY WITH A SGT. OFFICER.

1. California Highway Patrol, Riverside office received calls of highway violence on the eastbound 60 near the Pyrite exit in Jurupa Valley.
2. According to CHP, some type of altercation took place on the freeway and at least one shot was fired hitting one male occupant of a black car in the shoulder.
3. The suspect fled the scene.
4. The victim pulled off on the Main Street exit in Riverside and pulled up at the am/pm gas station for aid.
5. The male victim was transported with non life-threatening injuries, with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
6. The shooting is under investigation.
7. There was a female occupant in the victim vehicle at the time of the shooting, she was shaken but not injured.
8. It is unknown how many shots were fired or what led to the altercation.
