Gunfire Erupts at North Hollywood Apartment Complex
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2-15-26 | Started at 12:00am (still going as of 2am)
LOCATION: 7500 Laurel Canyon Blvd
AREA/CITY: North Hollywood
DETAILS:
- Reports of a shooting at a apartment complex near the back parking lot
- LAPD helicopter goes over head and sees a body shot next to a opened car door
- As LAPD approached the victim, they heard SHOTS FIRED and believed they were being shot at
- They took cover and saw a group of people that could have been the shooter
- LAPD took about 5-7 people into custody
- LAPD Metro went in and pulled / carried the shot victim to the middle of Laurel Canyon Blvd so LAFD paramedics could evaluate, victim pronounced deceased
- One person was shot in the leg and was transported by ambulance handcuffed to a gurney
- Reports say he is drunk and had a gun in his pocket and it went off. It’s possible LAPD thought that’s what was shooting at them.
- LAPD recovered a riffle but do not believe they have the shooter of the murder that shot the riffle
- The riffle shooter possibly got in a car and drove away from the scene
