Gun Sale Turns Into Shooting At Houston Hotel

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 30, 2026, Houston Police responded to a shooting at the Luxury Inn & Suites in the 8100 block of Easthaven.

According to investigators, the incident began when a man arrived at the hotel to purchase a pistol from individuals waiting in the rear parking lot.

Police said the buyer examined the firearm, inserted the magazine, and then asked whether the sellers could make change for a $100 bill. Investigators allege the suspect then took both the gun and the cash before running from the scene.

As the suspect fled across the parking lot toward a vehicle driven by his girlfriend, another individual who was not involved in the gun transaction reportedly began firing at him.

During the exchange of gunfire, the shooter was struck in the leg.

The suspect was able to reach the waiting vehicle across the street and escaped with the firearm and the money.

The injured man, described as being in his 40s, was transported to a local hospital by a relative and is expected to recover.

Houston Police said the suspect is described as a man in his late 30s to 40s and remains outstanding. Investigators are working with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine what charges may be filed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
