Green Meadows: Wheelchair-Bound Woman Critically Injured After Being Struck

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of South Central Avenue and East 103rd Street in the Green Meadows area around 3:28 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a female adult down in the roadway with a damaged wheelchair nearby.

Firefighter paramedics treated the woman on scene before transporting her to an area hospital in critical condition.

Initial reports indicate the woman was crossing the street in her wheelchair when she was struck by a vehicle.

It was unclear if the driver that struck the woman stopped and remained on scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
