Gramercy Park: Pedestrian Killed During Illegal Street Race

05.01.2020 | 3:54 AM | LOS ANGELES – A man in his 60s was killed by when he was struck by one of two vehicles involved in a street race, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of western Avenue and 92nd Street in the Gramercy Park area around 3:54 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a male pedestrian in his 60s down in the roadway and pronounced him deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in a street race when they struck the pedestrian as he crossed the street.

Neither street racer stopped to render aid.

Officers cordoned off the area surrounding the fatal hit-and-run crash while they looked for clues that might lead them to the motorists involved in the street race.
