Gorman: Fast-Moving Ridge Fire Burns 300+ Acres
07.27.2020 | 3:45 PM | GORMAN – A fast-moving brush fire scorched over 300 acres and was 40% contained, Monday evening.
Authorities responded to reports of a fire burning near the SR-138 Highway near West Lancaster Road around 3:45 PM.
Units arriving on scene worked to contain the blaze from the ground and air but the fire quickly grew.
By 6:40 PM Tuesday morning the fire, dubbed the Ridge Fire, had burned 310 acres and was 40% contained.
No structure damage or injuries were immediately reported by the SR-138 Highway was closed for over nine hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
