Good Samaritan Saves Neighbor as Two Mobile Homes Catch Fire | Jamul
01.03.21 | 7:31 AM | JAMUL – A fire of unknown cause started in the mobile home of a 90-year-old woman.
Being a very old trailer, the fire spread quickly and started to spread to the trailer next to it. The elderly woman was able to get out, but suffered a panic attack and was transported to a local hospital.
A neighbor came to the second trailer and started to pound on the side and screaming for the male resident to get out. He was able to wake up his neighbor who had to run through the fire to get out. He was not injured.
Firefighters had difficulty in getting to the fire due to access issues inside the park. An electrical line came down onto the top of the first trailer and due to its’ metal construction caused everything to be electrified. Propane kept the fire burning for over an hour.
The 2nd trailer suffered heavy damage with half of the trailer on fire.
No firefighters were injured. Hwy 94 is closed between Procter Valley Rd and Lyons Valley Rd.
The CalFire Fire Investigator and the Sheriff’s Bomb & Arson Squad have been requested to come and find the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross has been requested to come and aid the victims.
