Garden Grove: Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Ends With Two Dead, Another Injured
07.30.2020 | 5:50 PM | GARDEN GROVE – A pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended with a double fatal crash outside an elementary school, Thursday evening.
Orange County Sheriff deputies attempted to stop a black vehicle that had been reported stolen and was occupied by three individuals near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard around 5:50 PM.
The driver failed to yield to deputies and a pursuit ensued.
The chase came to an end when the driver crashed into a tree and fire hydrant outside the Zeyen Elementary School near the intersection of Chapman avenue and Magnolia Street.
Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and located the three suspects in critical condition.
One of the suspects was pronounced deceased on scene.
The other two were transported to an area hospital where another was pronounced deceased.
The remaining suspect is reported to be hospitalized in critical condition.
The names of the suspects were not immediately released.
The circumstances surrounding the pursuit and subsequent crash is under investigation.
