Garden Grove: Residents Jump From Apartment Building Amid Second-Alarm Fire
01.03.2019 | 2:55 AM | GARDEN GROVE – Residents had to jump from their second-story apartments to escape a massive fire, Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to numerous reports of a building on fire in the 13300 block of El Prado Avenue shortly before 3:00 AM.
Crews arriving on scene located a two-story apartment building with heavy smoke and fire showing and requested a second-alarm assignment.
A number of residents inside the building were seen jumping from second-story apartments to escape flames as crews attacked the blaze which was controlled within 35 minutes.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire but several pets did not escape and were presumed deceased.
Authorities were responding to investigate the cause of the fire.
