Fullerton: Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Striking Pedestrian

03.01.2020 | 9:58 PM | FULLERTON – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a suspected DUI driver, late Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Euclid Street shortly before 10:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a pedestrian down in the roadway and a vehicle stopped nearby.

Firefighter paramedics treated the pedestrian on scene before transporting them to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Officers learned that the driver of the vehicle stopped had struck the pedestrian.

After performing field sobriety tests on scene the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.
