Fullerton: High-Speed Impact Wraps Vehicle Around Pole, Kills Driver

11.12.2018 | 9:56 PM | FULLERTON – A driver was dead after losing control of their vehicle and striking a pole in high-speed crash, Monday night.

Police and fire officials responded shortly before 10:00 PM to the intersection of Gilbert Street and Open Sky Drive regarding reports of a traffic collision. While responding, units received reports of a patient possible trapped.

Crews arriving on scene located an vehicle wrapped around a light standard with substantial damage.

Further investigation revealed the driver and solo occupant of the vehicle had succumbed to their injuries. They were pronounced deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicated another vehicle may have been involved in the crash before fleeing however those reports could not be immediately verified.

The area surrounding the crash was closed while authorities investigated.
