Four Injured After Car Crashes Into San Marcos Market

Four people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision sent one of the vehicles partially into a market Friday night in San Marcos.

At approximately 9:49 p.m. on August 22, 2026, emergency crews responded to the area of West Mission Road and Pico Avenue following reports of a traffic collision.

Firefighters arrived to find two vehicles with major damage, including one that had crashed partially into a nearby market.

An extrication was required to free some of those involved in the collision.

A total of four people, ranging in age from teenagers to adults, were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as moderate to serious.

The building sustained enough damage that a board-up company was requested to secure the property.

The circumstances leading up to the collision were not immediately known and remain under investigation.
