Fountain Valley: Pedestrian Gravely Injured After Being Struck Twice

07.30.2019 | 11:45 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by two vehicles including one that fled, late Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Lilac Avenue around 11:45 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a man down in the roadway with major injuries and another vehicle stopped nearby.

Firefighter paramedics treated the male victim on scene before transporting him to UCI Medical Center in grave condition.

Initial reports indicate the man was running across southbound lanes of Harbor Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle and being launched into the air.

A second vehicle, reportedly a work truck, then struck the victim again.

The initial vehicle stopped to render aid and cooperate with law enforcement however the work truck fled the scene.

It was unclear whether the victim was in a crosswalk when he was struck.
