Fountain Valley: Officers Injured After Being Rear-Ended
09.27.2019 | 2:45 AM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – Two officers from the California Highway Patrol were injured after a vehicle that was reportedly cut-off slammed into their patrol vehicle, early Friday morning.
Two California Highway Patrol officers were working inside a CalTrans closure on the southbound I-405 Freeway near Bushard Street when a white Toyota Prius rear-ended their patrol vehicle.
Both officers suffered from minor injuries and were transported by firefighter paramedics to an area hospital. The driver of the Prius was uninjured.
Additional units arriving on scene were informed that the driver of the Prius reported being cut off by a big-rig causing her to lose control and strike the patrol vehicle.
The driver of the Prius passed a preliminary alcohol screening test.
All lanes of the southbound I-405 Freeway were closed while the California Highway Patrol’s Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) conducted an investigation.
