Fountain Valley: Man Fatally Struck On Freeway

01.10.2019 | 8:00 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A man was found dead after being struck on a busy freeway, Thursday night.

Officers responded to reports of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian while traveling southbound on the I-405 freeway near Brookhurst Street around 8:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located an adult male who had been struck by a sedan in the car pool lane of the freeway. The man was pronounced deceased on scene.

Multiple lanes were closed while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The driver who struck the pedestrian remained on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

Initial reports indicate the victim may have left a Toyota Prius which was found parked in the center divider of the freeway before being struck.
