Fountain Valley: Man Dead After Being Shot By Officers During Sexual Assault Investigation

01.20.2020 | 11:20 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A man was dead after an officer-involved shooting occurred as officers were following-up on a sexual assault investigation, Monday night.

Officers from the Santa Ana Police Department were conducting follow-up on a sexual assault investigation at the Serena Vista Apartments located in the 10300 block of La Hacienda in Fountain Valley around 11:20 PM.

At some point during the follow-up officers made contact with a male and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to UCI Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the alleged sexual assault remain under investigation.
