Flooding Swamps Galena Park Neighborhood Entrance

Heavy rainfall caused street flooding at the entrance to the Galena Manor subdivision in Galena Park on the night of July 8, 2026.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., city officials responded to flooding near Galena Manor at Clinton Drive, where standing water covered the entrance to the neighborhood.

According to city officials, flooding in the area is an ongoing issue due to drainage limitations, although improvements are already planned to address the problem.

Galena Park Mayor Oscar Mireles, the city’s police chief, fire chief, and public works crews all responded to the scene to coordinate efforts. Crews deployed pumps to remove the standing water and improve drainage.

Officials confirmed the floodwater did not reach any homes, and no evacuations were necessary.

Panther Creek also experienced flooding during the storm. By the time video was recorded, however, conditions at the creek had improved and no active flooding or emergency crews were visible.

City crews remained on scene monitoring water levels as cleanup and drainage operations continued.
