Firefighters Use Jaws of Life to Rescue Woman from Crash in Santa Monica

11.22.2020 | 11:00 PM | SANTA MONICA – A female was hospitalized in serious condition after her sedan smacked into a tree Sunday night.

Crews responded to reports of a crash near Cloverfield Blvd & Olympic Blvd around 11 PM.

Upon arrival, they found one vehicle that had collided into a tree with major damage.

The collision resulted in one woman being trapped inside the vehicle, in which firefighters has to utilize the “jaws of life” to free the victim.

Santa Monica PD could not confirm weather drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

Accident investigators remained on scene for an hour determining what led to the crash.
