Firefighters Rescue Construction Workers After Explosion | San Diego
1.04.2021 | 11:54 AM | SAN DIEGO – A construction worker was critically injured after a concrete pumper exploded, sending him flying into a coworker who was also injured Monday morning.
Authorities received calls regarding the blast shortly before noon Monday at 588 Camino Del Rio North.
Arriving, authorities located a multi-story parking structure under construction with two males down on the third floor.
A concrete pumper was pouring cement onto the 3rd floor when pressure built up and exploded, sending metal debris and concrete flying.
The male worker was hit in the head, then sent flying into a second male worker who was also injured.
Both were taken off the roof by a truck ladder hoist and transported to local hospitals.
Cal OSHA will be investigating.
