Firefighters Extricate Driver After Crash With MTS Bus
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2/6/2024 1:35 pm
LOCATION: Eastbound SR-905 / East of Caliente Ave.
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
- San Diego Fire-Rescue along with The California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a traffic collision on the Eastbound lanes of the SR-905 freeway just East of Caliente Ave.
- When crews arrived, they found a San Diego MTS bus that collided with a Ford Mustang.
- The driver of the Ford Mustang had to be extricated by firefighters which took about 20 minutes and was transported to a local hospital, their condition is unknown at this time.
- The driver and the passengers of the MTS bus did not suffer any injuries. The passengers of the MTS bus were transported onto another bus to continue the route.
- The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and trying to determine if wet roads and or speed was a factor in the crash.
- About 40 feet of guardrail was damaged due to the crash.
- A SigAlert was issued for Eastbound SR-905 as crews worked to clear debris and the damaged guardrail.
