Firefighters contained a vegetation fire at 7.2 acres after battling flames in heavy fuels and difficult-to-access terrain Sunday night.
The fire was first reported at approximately 7:56 p.m. on August 2, 2026, at an estimated one to two acres and burning at a moderate rate of spread.
Within minutes, the fire grew to approximately five acres, prompting additional resources as crews worked through heavy vegetation and challenging access. By 8:19 p.m., Incident Command estimated the fire at approximately 10 acres and requested 10 additional Type 3 engines and two additional water tenders.
Officials reported there were no immediate threats to structures.
Firefighters made significant progress throughout the evening, holding the fire between five and 10 acres before declaring forward progress stopped at approximately 9:28 p.m.
By 2:57 a.m. Monday, Incident Command reported the fire was fully contained at 7.2 acres.
