Firefighters Battle Suspicious Commercial Building Fire

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1-22-24, 1:21 p.m.
LOCATION: 1600 block of West Orangethorpe Ave
AREA/CITY: FULLERTON
DETAILS:

1. Fullerton Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire
2. when units arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and fire and a 2nd Alarm was requested..
3. Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim Fire and Rescue assisted with mutual aid.
4. Knockdown took around 45 mins.
5. The fire has been deemed suspicious and arson investigators have been summoned to the scene.
6. Orangethorpe Elementary School was placed on a Shelter in place order due to heavy smoke drifting from the fire.
7. The location was recently approved to be remodeled into a Korean Church.
8. Both directions of Orangethorpe will be shut down for a couple hours, while crews remain on scene
