Firefighters Battle Multi-Alarm Apartment Blaze Overnight

Firefighters battled a large apartment fire early Sunday morning in Spring, Texas, amid initial reports of trapped occupants.

The fire broke out at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 20, 2026, at an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Cypresswood Drive.

Spring Fire Department and Klein Fire Department responded to the scene, deploying aerial ladder trucks as crews worked aggressively to contain the flames. Firefighters attacked the blaze from elevated ladder platforms while additional crews searched the building.

Early reports indicated that children may have been trapped inside the apartment complex. However, one witness told reporters the children may have escaped before firefighters arrived. Authorities have not confirmed those reports.

Witnesses also reported seeing CPR being performed on one fire victim, though officials have not released information on that person’s condition. One woman was observed being transported by EMS on a stretcher and appeared to be in stable condition.

Constables and Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted with scene security while firefighters continued suppression efforts.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
