Firefighters Battle Massive Metal Yard Fire

DETAILS:
- At approximately 3:00 PM, Firefighters responded to reports of a fire burning within the metal yard of sims metal management company.
- upon arrival, firefighters located a large metal fire to the rear of the property.
- Additional resources were called in as firefighters attempted to gain control over the fire
- The incident produced a large column of smoke that was visible from miles away. Firefighters were able to gain control on the fire in roughly 2 hours but are expected to remain at the scene throughout the evening.
