Firefighter Seriously Injured Battling Fire in Japatul

11.27.2020 | 12:46 PM | JAPATUL – A fire of unknown cause has burned 10+ acres near Japatul Valley Rd & Red Hawk Ridge. A U.S. Forest fighter received a serious leg injury and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. The fire was quickly attacked and was being fueled by Santa Ana winds. Some structures were threatened. Air & Ground were able to stop the forward rate of spread within 90 minutes and are not attempting to contain the fire and mop up.
