Fire Tears Through Pallet Yard, Destroys Commercial Semi Trucks

DETAILS:

  1. Several Commercial Semis were destroyed when a fire ripped through a large pallet yard just off of Highway 210 near Palm Ave.
  2. At around 6:21 PM, CHP notified dispatched to alert fire departments that there was a large pallet yard on fire off Highway 210 but was not yet impacting Highway 210.
  3. Firefighters were dispatched to the incident and found that the pallet yard was well involved, with several commercial vehicles burning.
  4. The fire was well established putting up a black smoke column that could be seen for several miles.
  5. When they arrived on the scene, firefighters made access from both the south side of the fire from the property of the pallet yard and also from the north from a neighboring yard.
  6. Firefighters began hitting the fire from the engine extension ladder from an aerial position and also from the deck cannon from the north side, while other firefighters began the ground attack with hose lines.
  7. An hour after the time of dispatch, firefighters called the fire and knocked it down.
  8. A fire investigator has been requested as the cause remains unknown.
  9. No further details are available at this time.
