Fire Rekindles At Deputy-Involved Shooting Scene

At approximately 12:10 a.m. on July 2, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and firefighters responded to a rekindled house fire in the 15600 block of Morning Dove Drive in Houston.

The residence was the same home where a deputy-involved shooting had occurred the previous day.

According to fire investigators, the blaze was determined to be a rekindling of the original fire from the previous incident.

Authorities said investigators had previously conducted a thorough search of the home and found no evidence of foul play related to the rekindled fire.

Officials also confirmed that while other individuals had been living at the residence with the suspect involved in the earlier incident, no one was inside the home when the fire reignited.

Firefighters extinguished the rekindled fire and remained on scene to ensure there were no additional hot spots.

The investigation into the original deputy-involved shooting remains separate from the rekindled fire.
