Fire Breaks Out at Homeless Encampment in DTLA

At approximately 11:15pm on March 9th, 2026, Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a reported fire at a homeless encampment near 2198 East 14th Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked to extinguish the flames while assessing the surrounding area. Witnesses at the scene reported that a woman typically sleeps at the location but was not accounted for at the time of the fire and was believed to possibly be away from the area.

Fire officials remained on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
