Fiery Fatal Head-On Crash with USFS Vehicle

DETAILS:
- On March 9th, 2024, at about 12:38 PM, CHP, County Fire, and AMR were dispatched to reports of a head on crash involving a United State Forestry buggy.
- Units arrived at the crash and located a 3 vehicle crash with one vehicle on fire.
- A total of 12 people where in the USFS buggy and at least two where transported with major injuries.
- One person from the other vehicle was declared deceased at the scene.
- Highway 38 will be closed to both up and down bound traffic for an extended about of time.
- The cause of the crash is under investigation.
