Fiery Crash Shuts Down 101 Fwy
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-24-23 | 3:47 a.m.
LOCATION: 101 N & Laurel Canyon
CITY: Los Angeles
DETAILS:
- CHP & LAFD responded to a crash on the north lanes of the 101 freeway
- Initially the crash was reported as a solo vehicle (truck) into the center divider blocking the number 1 lane
- It was then reported that the truck was struck by another vehicle
- The truck then burst into flames
- Firefighters arrived to find a pickup fully engulfed in the fast lane of the fwy
- The driver of the vehicle was found laying in the fast lane behind where the crash occurred
- LAFD Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital in unknown condition
- Two other people were evaluated at the scene but it does not appear that they were transported
- CHP has a SIG ALERT issued for all north lanes for the next 45 minutes
