Fido Bag Saves Dog Pulled From Apartment Fire

- Phoenix Fire responded to a report of a fire in a single story apartment unit near the intersection of 3rd Ave and Pima Street around 10:30 Sunday evening.
- Firefighters arrived and located heavy fire from the windows of the apartment unit and began an offensive fire attack.
- Crews made entry into the apartment to battle the fire as they ventilated the roof. Crews located a dog from the unit unresponsive due to smoke inhalation.
- Firefighters carried the dog out and utilized a “Fido Bag ” to provide oxygen to the dog until it came-to and was able to stand up on its own.
- Seven people were displaced in the fire according to a Phoenix Fire spokesperson and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
