Female Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash in I-805
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 5-3-25 8:53 am
LOCATION: SB I-805 JNO Palm Ave
AREA/CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:
- A female witness who was involved and transported to a local hospital told us that she saw the driver of the black car coming up behind her going well over 100 mph.
- As she changed lanes to avoid him, he swerved into the Right shoulder Emergency lane and plowed into a stopped Disabled Car.
- The black car then entered the traffic lanes and crossed all lanes, hitting two other vehicles.
- All 3 ended up in the center divider with the white car on top of the blue.
- The male and female from the white and blue vehicles self-extricated.
- The male driver (red) of the black car was tending to a female who was on the ground. (It is not known if she was ejected.)
- A second female was trapped in the black car.
- The female in the disabled vehicle was extricated and declared deceased at the scene.
- The two vehicles from the black car were transported to local hospitals with major (possibly life-threatening injuries.
- The male from the black car was also transported with injuries.
- All traffic was stopped, and the CHP is trying to have cars exit off the Imperial Ave exit
- The southbound I-805 will be closed for a good length of time for the investigation and clean up.
UPDATE:
A woman in a fifth vehicle had debris hit her and she started to have some medical issues becuase of the drama. She was transported to a hospital.
